Why did an Air Bag/Air spring deflate while driving?
This is usually a result of the following:
- The airline or air fitting has failed from rubbing, melted from heat, or has pulled out from the collet that holds it in.
- Choose the route for your airlines and NEVER drag them through the cars frame when installing them. If you scratch the outside of the airline, it will NEVER seal as this is what the fitting seals onto.
- Another reason is OVERLOADING, the air spring used isn’t rated for the application and exceeded its maximum workload. Please check load ratings before installing any air spring.
When correctly installed an air bag system will be reliable for years if you perform regular maintenance, like draining water from the tank and replacing air filters for the compressors.
